Black Student Union

The Black Student Union at Upper Merion Area High School strives to promote awareness of African-American history and culture. We provide a safe space for members to share their experiences. We also promote academic excellence and post-secondary planning and success.

Some activities sponsored in the past include:

• Local community service 
• Soul Food feast
• Participation in Diversity Day
• Participation in the Student Leadership conference at the University of Pennsylvania sponsored by the Delaware Valley Consortium on Excellence and Equity
• Kente ceremony
• Elementary School Mentoring Program

Our official club meeting dates are as follows, after school: Oct 23, Nov 20, Jan 8, February 5, March 5, April 2
