CAST Youth Clubs
CAST involves youth in the coalition through youth clubs:
- CAST CLUB: For students in grades 5 through 8. CAST CLUB meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from 3:00 to 4:30 in the Upper Merion Area Middle School Library.
- CAST Teen Advisors Club - For students in grades 9-12. Many of the students in this club have been former members of the middle school CAST CLUB; however, that is not a prerequisite for club membership. CAST Teen Advisors serve as mentors to middle school students and help out with CAST CLUB activities. They also develop and implement ideas to improve mental health and spread drug prevention awareness in high school. The CAST Teen Advisors Club will meet from 2:30 to 3:00 in the Second Floor LGI (222) on the following Tuesdays: 9/24; 10/22; 11/19; 1/7; 2/4; 3/4; and 4/1.
- Students Against Destructive Decisions Club (SADD) - For students in grades 9-12. CAST works closely with the SADD Club. The mission of SADD is to empower and mobilize students and adult leaders to engage in positive change through leadership and smart decision-making. The SADD Club will be meeting from 2:30 to 3:00 in Ms. Dell'Elmo's Room on the following Thursdays: 9/19; 10/17; 11/14; 12/19; 1/30; 2/27; 3/27; and 5/1.
- We also have a partnership with Access Services of Montgomery County. Through Access Services, we are able to offer a Teen Talk Line Club at Upper Merion Area High School on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3:30.
