Parking/Driving

Parking Expectations and Student Driver Responsibilities:

  • Parking permits can be purchased ($5) in the HS Main Office.  All cars parked on school grounds must have a parking permit.
  • No Guaranteed Parking Spots: It is important to understand that a parking permit does not guarantee a parking spot on campus. Available parking spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Students arriving later in the morning may need to utilize the overflow parking lot.
  • Adherence to Designated Parking Areas: All student vehicles must be parked in designated student parking areas only. Parking in visitor spots, staff parking, bus areas, central administration parking or any other undesignated area is strictly prohibited.
  • Timely Arrival to School:  We encourage students to arrive at school with ample time to find a permissible parking space and be in their first period class by 7:35 am. Carpooling is also encouraged as a way to reduce the number of vehicles on campus.

Please refer to the attached campus map, which clearly outlines:

  • Permissible Student Parking Areas: Student Parking areas are the shaded bright green areas on the maps.
  • Restricted Parking Areas: These areas, including but not limited to visitor parking (shaded light blue), staff parking (shaded purple), bus parking (shaded yellow) and central administration parking (shade in orange).

Overflow Parking Lot near Candlebrook Elementary:

  • When on-campus student parking reaches capacity, students will need to utilize the overflow parking lot located near the Candlebrook Elementary School fields on Prince Frederick Street.  It is approximately a 5 minute walk from the Candlebrook overflow parking lot to the HS Main Entrance.

We understand that parking can sometimes be challenging, and we appreciate the cooperation of our student drivers in adhering to these expectations. By following these guidelines, we can ensure a safer and more efficient traffic flow on and around our campus.  Please do not hesitate to contact our UMASD Safety and Security Coordinator at (610)205-3864 if you have any questions.
